A hammer prophetically means a symbol for the Word of God. It is also referred to as a sword, Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. It will take the Word of God and the Spirit of Truth working together to dismantle the structures built on foundations compromised by error and lies of the enemy. I can see this as construction team, working in unity to dismantle and prepare the way for the new structure. Room by room there is close examining to see if the foundation is of Christ Jesus, to see if the cornerstone is of Christ Jesus. To check the pillars, the walls, the plumbline of truth is it flowing with living waters? Or is it contaminated with a mixture of soul and spirit? Bitter and sweet? Is the wiring up to code, are all your power sources, outlets, wired correctly and hooked up to the right transformer? Is your roof your covering durable, strong, leakproof, resistant to the storms of life? Then with each area that is found to not be up to code, or that is not beneficial to the new structure, it begins to be targeted for demolition. One room at a time, one area at a time.
