A jump room is a standard elevator in an office building that has a dual use. In jump room mode, the elevator morphs from a box into a cylinder, the occupants feel nauseous as the cylinder twists and they can see a swirling pattern at the end of the cylinder, and then when the elevator morphs from this cylindrical shape back into a box, and the door opens, the occupants are elsewhere in time-space. The West Coast jump room that we were using to get to Mars in the early 1980s was the elevator in the building at 999 N. Sepulveda Blvd. in El Segundo, CA, a which was then owned and occupied by Hughes Aircraft. We would take the elevator from the ground floor to the 5th floor; check in on the 5th floor by giving our name, date of birth, Social Security number, and signature; take the elevator from the 5th floor to the 8th floor; and then after about five minutes the elevator would morph from a box into a cylinder for about five minutes, then morph back from a cylinder into a box for five minutes, and then after another wait of five minutes, the door would open and we could see that the elevator was now housed in the columnar infrastructure of a receiving facility on Mars. While the jump room was apparently using some trans-chronological generation of materials, its actual function remains unknown. -- Andrew D. Basiago
