A letter excerpt from a Changing My World participant who was recently transferred: (When I am released), I will make it my business to not be a stranger at CJAX. Even though I will reside in Melbourne, Florida, I will still drive those 3 hours (at minimum every other month) to get to Jacksonville. The impact the volunteers made upon me is simply too valuable to not follow up on. It was like you guys were constantly blessing me in particular (and also everyone else) with treasure I’ve never received before, so therefore, I’d be, not just a fool, but a darn fool to not have my face in the place to receive more of that treasure. Prime example: I’m already terribly disgruntled that I’m not there to take notes from the DVD’s. However, I will confess that my notebook is not just sitting in my locker collecting dust. I have actually made 9 entries into it which I draw from a publication called “The World Among Us.” These were things that stuck out to me, valuable nuggets, things that my inner spirit said, “record this so that you can refer to it.” That’s where I give CMW due credit, because this is a practice that would have never been part of my life’s routine had it not been for the wonderful CJAX Prison Ministry. In 40 years of living life before coming to Lawtey, it had never occurred to me (not in the least) that I needed to jot down notes to refresh my mind on matters of importance to strengthen my walk with God. Now I do. My prayers go out to Pastor Mike, CJAX, and each of the Prison Ministry volunteers. I’m sure God is well pleased!!!
