A little Friday humor that we just received from the Stearns County Sheriffs Office: On September 18, 2014 at approximately 11:55 A.M. the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office took a call regarding an exotic animal. The caller was out mowing lawn near a wetland area when he observed an approximate 2 foot alligator in the grass. The caller telephoned the Sheriff’s Office to report what he had found. A deputy responded and found the alligator on the grass near a creek and swampy area. The deputy approached on foot and the alligator did not retreat or move. The deputy used is his baton to investigate further and found the alligator to be a plastic toy. It was safely removed.
