A little long but worth it.. Its a job posting for a slave oops I mean cdl driver.. Crazy Class A CDL Driver/Laborer (Emmett, ID) Position Description: Local service company needing Class A CDL driver. Position to start immediately. Short hauls performed for customers in the Gem and Canyon County areas. Minimum two years of CDL driving experience required. Preference given to applicants with experience operating trash collection routes. Looking for positive, experienced, safe, organized and reliable driver able to fill out all daily paperwork, follow the chain of command and serve our customers reliably - with a great attitude. Our routes must operate in all kinds of weather, so ability to work in cold and hot temperatures a must. Employee will be required to assist where needed to stay on schedule, which includes both driving and manual labor where needed. Employee will be a self-starter and must be in good physical condition able to climb all around vehicle to inspect and secure loads multiple times each day. May require starting as early as 3:30 am or working as late as 11 pm to meet deadlines on occasion, so flexibility of schedule a must. We are a drug-free workplace. Workers may be required to clock in and out a few times per day. During non-productive periods of the day, workers will be asked to clock out until they are needed again. All workers are at-will and we cannot guarantee continued employment for any reason. Responsibilities: Driver/laborer candidates will possess a CDL Class A license (or Class B at a minimum). This position entails the safe and timely driving of our trucks on local residential and commercial routes throughout the week on specified days. A 90 day probationary period is standard for all new hires. A schedule may be created ahead of time to some extent, when available. Otherwise, candidates will be available and need to be reachable (reliably) on an on-call basis. Other Duties: • Drive a 25 cubic yard packer truck to thousands of customer locations in Gem and Canyon Counties • Assist in the safe and efficient loading of equipment on route and unloading at the disposal facilities • Adhere to DOT Driver Regulations and maintain accurate DOT pre and post-trip vehicle condition reports, along with route sheet entry • Assist with making daily route sequence changes, as customers are added and removed regularly, to ensure route is organized in most efficient and logical manner possible • Perform other on-call duties, as needed and assigned Required Qualifications: • Cooperative and professional attitude, at all times • Previous experience operating garbage trucks • Clean Motor Vehicle Record for the past two (2) years • Current Class A or Class B CDL License • Current DOT medical card • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing • Be 25 years of age or older • Winter truck driving experience (may be required to chain up at times) • Willingness to work long days when needed • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds • A reliable, working phone number (to receive regular schedule updates via voice or text message) In addition to route work, candidates will be given additional duties with various tasks around the operations yard as-needed. Delivery work is also required. In addition to the qualifications listed above, Driver/laborer Candidates should also possess some or all of the following qualifications: • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Ability to fill out company forms • Ability to handle diverse, demanding, and varying workload • Safety-oriented with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills • Willingness to work long hours while maintaining a professional demeanor Compensation & Benefits: Hourly compensation is dependent on qualifications and schedule.
