A little philosophy inclineth mans mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth mens minds about to religion. - Sir Francis Bacon This simple saying shows one of the sweet riches of reality. The bulk of those who study and know only the most basic aspects of philosophy (commonly, a few dictionary definitions of certain terms and -isms) constitute a large portion of the laymen apologists of atheism and agnosticism. Similarly, a Christian who simply dabbles in the realm of philosophy and meta-reality is in some danger of having their faith weakened (albeit, for a time) since they are introduced to so many different ways of thinking than their own currently held stance. If you know someone who claims atheism/agnosticism or any other combination of secular views that glorifies mankind, challenge them to go further into philosophy and actually dig for truth, rather than dig for a witty quote to reply to Christians on social media sites. Offer to help them, if you can, but always try to share the Gospel to them in some way - depth in philosophy might bring their mind about to religion, but it wont save them from the consequence of their sins against the Almighty. Also to the Christian, I encourage you to be studious in delving into this great subject. God is the person of utter Being, the Ultimate Reality, and the source of all truth. Are we not commanded to subdue and maintain responsible dominion over this Earth? This commission includes understanding reality and doing well in every discipline of study for the glorification of our God. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, - 2 Corinthians 10:5
