A man who allegedly shot and killed a police K-9 named Sultan while the dog searched for a wanted felon in Hemet was identified Friday. Todd Allen Hodge, 36, is said to have shot Sultan in the neck while hiding from police underneath a home on Wednesday. He was later shot and killed by authorities. Police are now mourning the loss of their partner, and have planned a vigil for this weekend. “To us, it’s not just a dog. They are a partner. They are somebody who is with us for 10 hours a day, and up to 50 hours a week,” Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Chief Jeff Raya said. Read KTLA’s story here: ktlane.ws/1GK3nmB
