A message to the media. We have been asked by local, regional and national media organisations for our story and for TV interviews regarding Wanda. This group was set up with the welfare of Wanda in mind, to help keep track of her movements with our map and to help make a rescue mission run as smoothly as possible. We would welcome positive, informative reporting on the Wanda story from all concerned but unfortunately no one can guarantee the safety of Wanda now the story has been aired. As you would have read we have discussed the pros and cons of media coverage. It is the general opinion that the best way to keep Wanda safe and to aid a rescue would be with information through Wiltshire Wallaby Watch and by linking up the communities in the areas she has been spotted. I have been informed that the story was on the news today, we are just hoping that now the public are aware the news coverage wont cause too much negative attention. As we would like to create awareness now Wanda has been spotted close to the M4 motorway we would also like you to respect the fact that if people decide upon themselves to try and catch her by making chase this could be fatal. We are working with Wiltshire police and mammal professionals alike to rescue Wanda safely. Please advise on any coverage if Wanda is spotted to contact 101 and Wiltshire Wallaby Watch so we can make an effort in the safe rescue of Wanda. We would be happy to do interviews and tell the story of Wandas adventures once she is home safe but until then I think my appearance on TV wouldnt help in her rescue. I am more than happy to give comment through our group or by email. Please comment on this thread as I would like everyones opinion on this matter. Best regards.
