A new study suggests that pregnant women have more car crashes - TopicsExpress

A new study suggests that pregnant women have more car crashes when they are expecting than they do before and after the pregnancy. The extra risk is primarily in the 2nd trimester when women are feeling the most effects of pregnancy but may not drive as carefully as they do with a late term belly. Since a normal pregnancy is associated with fatigue, nausea, insomnia, anxiety and distraction, all these changes could contribute to driver error. So drive carefully in mid-pregnancy as you do when you have the big belly and when you have kids in the car and be sure to always wear a seat belt. Pregnant drivers should keep 10 inches between the steering wheel and their breastbone.
