A nice way to spend your lunch hour with a little eat and learn. Lunch & Learn Lectures for Gardeners (Noon-1:00pm) If you want to know more about gardening, attend the Purdue Extension lunch & learn sessions for gardeners. “Each month a free lecture will be offered over the lunch hour on a variety of garden-related subjects,” says Steve Mayer, Extension Educator-Horticulture, for Purdue Extension-Marion County. The sessions will be held in Discovery Hall in the northwest corner of the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis (Suite 201, Discovery Hall, 1202 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205-2807) · The April session will be: Friday, April 25, 2014, noon – Diagnosing Tree Problems, by Steve Mayer, Purdue Extension-Marion County. The principles of tree problem diagnosis will be presented using the mnemonic diseased tree to help you remember what is involved in the diagnostic process. · The May session will be: Friday, May 2, 2014, noon – Starting a Community Garden, by Ginny Roberts, Purdue Extension-Marion County. Starting a community garden requires more than just the knowledge of growing food. Come and learn what is needed. Answers will be given to common questions, and bring your own questions. Be sure to attend if you are starting a new garden this spring! Bring your own lunch. There is no charge to participate and parking is free.
