A nightmare shook me from my sleep this morning. In the dream, I had not adequately prepared my kids for school and it was an incredibly scary thing for me to think about sending them out without what they desperately needed. It seems silly, but it had my heart racing. As I thought through the few details that I have to work out before school starts, and made lists today, I began thinking about not only my kids physical needs, but their emotional and spiritual needs as well. I encourage you mothers to, as you are working out your kids physical needs as they start school next week, think through and pray through how you can equip them spiritually and emotionally. Sending them out unprepared spiritually and emotionally seems like a much scarier scenario than even my nightmare. Think about how you can foster spiritual creativity in your kids, think about how you can teach your children to pray, worship and be missional in their school life. Pack their spiritual school supplies this week.
