A note to all my musician friends out there: DO NOT book musical services with Milestones, Scarborough location. We at Toronto Jazz Collective worked closely with the owner Mohsin and manager Kimberley for almost a year doing bookings, providing them with many of our musicians and bands. This year we got an HST number and had to start charging them HST. They immediately decided they could not afford this 13% charge so they stopped using our services. Then they went behind our backs and started contacting our musicians trying to hire them and cut out the middleman. This middle man brought them these super talented musicians who they would never have met otherwise, showing that the service did have value. We were only charging a small fee for this service. Well, their short-term, immature thinking didnt get them very far and will cost them their reputation. I have booked at many other Milestones and they have all been very respectful and willing to pay what the musicians deserve for their service. I am not putting down the entire chain, just the Scarborough establishment. I thought I would share this with everyone in case they were looking to book with them.
