A parent asks our group: My daughter, 4, is a TOTAL spaz. She seriously flings her arms and legs around and spins around, falls on stuff, kicks everything over, and generally appears drunk. She never stops eating, even though shes thin, it is a concern. She ALWAYS says she is hungry no matter how much or recently she ate. If she is riding her scooter or bike, she has incredible control and speed, but otherwise is a total spaz. She clobbers our dogs, with apparently no sense of the fact that she is driving them nuts, and knocks things off of every surface she walks past. She has no speed other than crazy and is the poster child for ADHD. She cant sit still for longer than 3 seconds, and has no sense for personal space or conversation skills. Noises bother her, so she cant stand having the air or heat on in the car. As a baby, she would scream like she was dying any time we put her in her car seat. Seriously. She would refuse to take a bottle or pacifier as an infant, and wouldnt wean from nursing until I finally lied to her when she was 3 1/2 and told her they stopped working. She climbed up in my lap about a week later and said Theres milk in there. I can SMELL it. in a very accusatory tone. She wouldnt sleep alone for the first year of her life. I have always known that SOMETHING was up, but I dont want to give her meds or therapy. Basically, I want ideas on how to tone her down about 10 notches naturally. I feel like I am losing my mind. Someone please tell me how to sedate this child with natural resources. Does this sound normal for sensory issues, or like something else? - thank you for your help.
