A parent asks our group: So yesterday we took my 6 yr old son to have some more testing at the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta GA, It was our 2end visit, But yet they did the same thing with him as they did the first visit and said basically the same thing..... That before they would look for three sings to see if a child is autistic, the sensory, the repetitive play, and communication skills. And my son has two of those, the sensory and the repetitiveness. But now they only take in two of these when diagnosing and my son only has one of these signs. So we couldnt get a true diagnosis yesterday. And she said that he has Anxiety disorder, ADHD, Encopresis,.... all of which he needs other specialist for. And that if he is enrolled in public school he needs an IEP OR 504 plan and or special ed. Then she said that I could take him to get a 2end opinion with another psychologist, I was like hello this is our 2end time and she said and did the same thing as you. And they both gave me that, I am not so sure of your son??? look on their faces, didnt not know that it would be this hard to get a true diagnoses. Any one else have this problem ?
