A photo of him doing his homework while waiting for the surgeon. ;) This post may be a little on the gross side, so if you are squeamish you might want to skip this one: The appointment went well today, so we are just dealing with the old bandage changes and ointment applications right now. His face is not pretty (to put it nicely) We almost have all the surgical tape removed and then we will have to break through the old dried blood. It literally turns into a cement-like consistency and takes a few days to get through it all, especially when all we are allowed to do is blot at it. No scrubbing allowed. He can already open his mouth a little more than before, and hopefully we will see an even bigger improvement as the remaining swelling goes down. His lower lip seems to have an unusual concave look to it, but we will see if that clears up as the graft heals. His leg looks like hamburger and continues to bleed a lot, but I know how to deal with that. Unfortunately the people in the hotel room next to us do not quite understand what is going on, though, and the front desk called to check on us to make sure we were OK. Poor child. And poor hotel visitors. I hope we didnt ruin their day. We will return in October/November unless something new crops up. I am looking forward to the 6 month break in travel! Thank you all for your prayers and kind messages! I will post some pictures when his face gets a little more cleaned up in a few days. Lets hope for a big cheesy smile!
