A picture that was shared a bit ago reminded me of a character from Fullmetal Alchemist and it got thinking; Is it just me, or did that manga/anime/second version anime seem to have a lot of Lovecraftian influences? Unnatural horror creatures of various forms (some with too many eyes and mouths), strange beings who regard humans with little or no interest, weird gods beyond the gates and terrible consequences for trying to learn too much.... Strange symbols and poorly understood powers, awful recompense taken for foolish meddling, people driven to madness, or at least terrible deeds, by things they dont understand. Am I reading too much into it? Thoughts?
