A plea to my fellow Kingston parents: I live on Second Brook Street. Today my 1st grader and I were almost hit by an SUV while crossing the street from the bus. I wish I could say it was the first time a close-call like this has happened in the 2 years I have lived here - but its not. Im sure we can all agree its a tricky road - uphill with a couple curves. But I implore you - the speed limit is 15 mph. If you drive 15 mph, you will have enough time to notice and stop for the yellow bus and its flashing lights. I know how it feels to run late getting to/from school and activities - but as my lawn sign says - please drive like your kid lives here.
