A quiet night * It’s a quiet night tonight The rain gentle on my tin roof Pitter patter My thoughts roam around the universe and back Tap tapping on my keyboard Poems for quiet nights I think to myself My thoughts are serene Relaxed Comfortable Though I sit amidst chaos And turbulence The storms blow in Palestine Syria and Ukraine The war machine marches on Crushing all in its way To a new world order Where democracy is no more And the voices of the people stifled It seduces with guile and lies Making promises it won’t keep Jackboots and iron fists are its intent Debt and profit are its tools Fools cheer at their own demise See they not that the death of one is the death of all eventually Foolish indeed is the man creature Blind is he to his own enslavement Behold a pale horse Silhouetted against a fiery horizon Death stalks amidst cheers By heartless humanity Devoid of humanity Psychopaths in human skins Murderers with warm smiles Heed they not the tales of the seven seals The rise of Babylon The apocalypse and death The Jezebel of our time Shall fall to the dogs And be torn to pieces Zionism has no future In a sane society Though fools believe otherwise Have they not read the missives of history Instead they write dreams on water And suffer their own delusions Of mad dreams and blood filled nightmares Wreaked upon others In the name of their gods And nationalistic dreams The hounds from hell bark into the night The dogs of war run wild Every man needs clasp his gun And be alert Hell comes riding this night Death reaps bitter harvests In fields of death The killing fields filled with corpses Of good men who did nothing It’s a quiet night tonight I wish it was the same everywhere _____________________________________________ 2014© rsassool jibraeel snyman “The Poetic Assassin”
