•A remarkable beginning In 1973, Gary suffered a crippling injury from a logging accident that changed his life forever. After months in intensive care, Gary found himself paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. Following two years of intense pain and depression, he resolved to regain control of his life. This was the beginning of a long and painful road toward recovery. •Discovery of healing benefits Gary began to experiment with natural healing practices where conventional medicine failed. His determination to heal led him to the amazing benefits of essential oils. Gary found that essential oils had varying results of success. He began experimenting and found that slight differences in how essential oils were grown, harvested and distilled majorly impacted the oil’s ability to heal. •Search for forgotten knowledge. Gary’s passion for essential oils began taking him all over the world. He visited oil producers all over the world and studied their processes in producing essential oils. He spent time with everyone from growers to master distillers learning how to create his own essential oils that work. •Creation of company and farms. Gary took the knowledge acquired on his travels and founded Young Living Essential Oils. Since then, Young Living has grown to include farms and distilleries in Utah, Idaho, France, Ecuador, and Oman.
