A sad ending to this siege. I couldnt care less for the coward and scumbag terrorist behind this but my heart and prayers goes out to the family of the hostage killed. Im lost for words as to how someone with such extensive criminal record could be allowed out and without police surveillance! Although we dont often see such disturbing incidents in Australia, it is important to remember that the threats are very real, if it can happen here...it can happen anywhere. Wake up and smell the coffee. Dont live in fear but be alert. Seeing the 4th hostage running for her life, on live tv, left a terrifying image. To see someone scrambling to get to safety, running away from a terrorist, the look on her face, her reaction says it all. Some of the things these pests/terrorists want is for us to live in fear, create divisions in our society and spread hate. They enjoy the media coverage and attention. Please , dont let them win. Dont generalize, categorize and please be mindful about stereotypes. Not every Muslim is a terrorist, only those that committed a crime should be judged. I wish we didnt give them all the media attention but thats something we dont have control over. What we do have control over is making sure we dont take our anger out on innocent civilians who happen to be Muslims, two wrongs dont make it right. The world is watching how we will react to this, including the scums who encourage these acts in the first place, dont react in a way that is inhuman. If I can sum up my hope for the coming weeks in one hashtag, it would be #illridewithyou
