A scorching hot day in Dublin today, not a cloud in the sky. After all my gardening I collapsed on the recliner, beer in hand. When I eventually, went indoors to have a dinner of a nice piece of salmon and a home-grown salad I turned on the TV news to see horrifying pictures of children screaming in agony, scorched, roasted, with their fingers burned off by Israeli-launched, US-built missiles. Most of these children, if they survive, are orphans. Yesterday, I saw a woman, in a coma, who will recover, to be told her Mother, Father, two brothers, two sisters and three children have been killed in the missile strike that injured her. Its clear, now, in hindsight that the setting up of Israel was a massive mistake, a terrible injustice perpetrated on the Palestinians by the West, as it attempted to assuage its conscience over the Holocaust perpetrated by the Germans. Sometimes old sayings contain important, undeniable, unavoidable truth: Two wrongs dont make a right.
