A side of Joan Rivers you probably didnt expect. Here, verbatim, is a thank you letter she wrote to me July 29, 1975: Dear Mr. Simon, Thank you so very much for your wonderful (underlined) review that appeared in the News on June 17, 1975. It always makes a performer very, very happy to know that somebody bright and intelligent out there likes him and is able to pick up on what he is doing--or trying to do--from stage. Since we left Buffalo, John (Davidson) and I have been practically all over the Eastern Seaboard (Albany, Washington, Baltimore, Cohasset) but of all the good reviews that we have received--and Im not just saying this--yours still stands out as the nicest of the summer. So next time I play Buffalo, please come back personally and say hello. It would be a pleasure to meet you. I hope you have a lovely summer and, again, thank you very much.
