A storey for you....1979 the CTD East in the Brugha had two platoons together on an NCOs course, we ended in the Glen two weeks before we passed out. We were getting a training lecture in one of the billets. I was sitting on the bed nearest the door. I heard someone come in and stand behind me, then go out again. I took a quick look around and seen who it was. The lecture was over and we were told to fall in outside. which we did , every one with their rifles, everyone except me There was a roar O Brien were is your rifle....., you have it I said. The NCO came over to me and in my face said What do mean I have it....I said I heard you come into the billet and when I turned around I seen you walking out with my rifle. There was a silence. Instantly the platoon was brought to attention and marched away. About an hour later I was given my rifle back. When we arrived back in Dublin I was called to the Adj office. I was asked what happened, I gave my him storey, he told me to keep my head down , there was two weeks left and I would be passing out as an NCO. I never heard another thing
