According to the Chronicle of Queen Jane and Queen Mary: Mary had her train borne up by the marchioness of Winchester, assisted by Sir John Gage, her lord chamberlain. Her wardrobe records show she had chosen a dress in the French style made of rich tissue with a border and wide sleeves, embroidered upon purple satin, set with pearls of our store, lined with purple taffeta. Mary was given away by the three earls of Bedford, Pembroke and Derby and the marques of Winchester.
