A subsonic aluminium projectile cannot penetrate a steel target. The WTC towers were reinforced steel frame buildings with only 1 metre of window space between adjacent steel columns. Even a large passenger plane would have hit it like a fly splat. Funny that some newspapers referred to the WTC as ground zero from the moment the towers were brought down, one of the sources must have let that slip.
