A teenager remains in hospital in a critical condition after being struck by a car in Narraweena last night. About 7.15pm (Saturday 24 May 2014), police from Northern Beaches Local Area Command were called to Warringah Road, near the intersection of Alfred Street, after reports of a crash at the location. Officers have been told a 13-year-old girl was crossing the street with a group of friends when she was struck by a car. The girl sustained head injuries and was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition. No one else was injured during the incident. The driver of the vehicle was taken to Manly Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests. Traffic was diverted on Warringah Road while emergency services carried out their inquiries at the scene. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
