A three-year-old girl, who was raped by a teenaged male relative at her Tamana home last Friday, remained in critical condition at the Paediatric Unit of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex yesterday. The suspect was in police custody over the weekend and is expected to be charged today with the offence. According to reports, the girl was with her mother, the 17-year-old male relative and her father at their home in Tamana on Friday afternoon. At about 2 pm the child was left in the living room watching television while the mother attended to the child’s bedridden father.
