A vacancy is currently available in Burgersfort Area at a Platinum Mine for the following: Business Area Leader -Finance PURPOSE OF THE JOB The purpose of the Function is to lead the finance and information management team into managing the Mines’ finance and accounting policies, systems and process, tax and regulatory requirements, payroll systems and controls, ongoing financial modeming and business plan. REQUIREMENTS: B Degree in Commerce or Equivalent 7 years relevant experience and a track record in a management role, of which 4 years should have been in in the mining industry Sound knowledge of financial related corporate governance legislation Advanced interpersonal and financial related corporate governance legislation Computer literacy relevant to the role (SAP systems experience will be an advantage) Valid certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for delivery of cost effective and efficient accounting and financial systems that, meets the current and future business requirements of the mine Manage the Mine’s Insurance and risk management process Ensure financial management reporting tools and processes are in place to support current and future needs of the business. Provide ongoing financial modelling and analysis expertise to the business Lead the business planning, budget process and provide effective financial services to support the achievement of mine Plans Align and integrate governance processes to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation applicable to finance, information management procurement processes and development of SMME’s Lead continuous improvement initiatives and advice management on cost control measures and capital spend. Lead and manage financial services team and be accountable for corporate governance.
