A very bad news that we all got this eid is about 21 people who drowned while swimming at Sea-View beach in Karachi. An operation has been conducted by the Navy to recover the dead bodies and finally 144 has been imposed by the Govt which restricts swimming. Commissioner Karachi has taken full responsibility of the fateful incident. But i differ from the whole scenario. How can he be responsible when the area involved comes under DHA jurisdiction? All the taxes are collected by the DHA while the local Govt or the Sindh Govt has to bear most of the infrastructure expenses. Even the toll fees at the beach is collected by the DHA. So its directly their responsibility to provide life guards or stop people from swimming on a high tide. They have a huge vigilance team. Take some blame too guys and be responsible. Now coming on to the second part. I just watched the grieved families who had lost their loved ones shouting and blaming the administration. One was actually heard asking to shut down the beach. As a Citizen we have some redponsibilities to perform too. I have witnessed myself at various occassions how badly the Youth behaves at the beach. They find it amusing to show their swimming skills to the passers by. The dreadful result is in front of us.
