A very good read. Heres the comment with my thoughts that I left on Matthews share of the story. -- Its the difference between doing things right and doing things well, I think. The people doing things right are looking at the mess of a situation and figuring out where it should be, and working to get it there -- despite the odds. The people (like Kristof) that are doing things well, look at the mess of the situation, consider how they personally can make an impact inside that situation (or in spite of that situation) but dont have ambition for making long-lasting permanent change (despite, obviously desiring it on a personal level). Kristof, in isolation, is great. One person making more a difference than any other single person. But when his actions hurt the efforts of those that are actually putting in the hard work and tough jobs, then I think he should pause and really consider if his bridge characters and saddest of sad stories are really providing a net win for humanity.
