A very special evening last night at the Wests Roosters club where the old Athletic RFC had a reunion. 52 game former All Black Nev McEwen (1956 to 1962) also Captained the 1965 Athletic team to win Jubilee Cup was guest of honour and gave a wonderful speech. 73 game All Black Murray Mexted spoke on behalf of the wider rugby community and Brian Cederwall reflected on the clubs history and great legacy. Very humbling to be in the company of so many people that I have known most of my life. One of the biggest junior clubs in NZ Rugby and a wonderful committee behind the scenes. Sheridan Bruce you a very special lady mate in all you (and your family) do for the club.
