After 3 years, Louie’s family didn’t like the way he adapted - TopicsExpress

After 3 years, Louie’s family didn’t like the way he adapted to “changes in the family” and just brought him to Manhattan ACC. And Louie is NOT happy! He’s scared out of mind and whenever somebody tried to grab him, he went into “I’m fighting for my life” mode. The noise, the barking dogs, the cramped cage—all those things make most little guys like Louie sooooo afraid. During his behavioral assessment, Louie wasn’t interested in food, in toys, in the rawhide, and she sure didn’t want anybody grabbing him or squeezing his paw. The only time he seemed to relax a bit is when he saw another dog come into the room—but we know that Louie lived with other dogs and was fine with them. So now Louie is on his own and ACC has decided that being scared gives you a slot on tomorrow morning’s euthanasia list. Outside of needing a good grooming, Louie appears to be in decent health. He is certainly young enough to have a long happy life ahead of him. Louie likely needs a home with no very young children who might scare him when they try to grab him as most little children do. He needs someone who understands the small dog headset and knows that its all a big bluff! ACC has made him a New Hope only dog which means that he needs someone who will apply to rescues to become his foster or adopter. He needs someone who can see this little guy prancing around their house being the Maltese prince he knows he is! Are you that someone? Start applying right now—Louie’s waiting for you!
