Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: The day of the Lord, I believe, happened in 70AD, the day of the Lords vengeance, but the day of Jesus Christ is what we await, that Paul referred to..I would call it His final return. It is clear that earth was made for man, not heaven. Heaven is a temporary holding place until the fulfillment of resurrection occurs. We wait bodily resurrection on the day of Jesus Christ, when death is completely destroyed, where no one can die anymore. 1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. The end referred to in 1 Cor. 15:24 means the goal, as in the definite point of our journey. We do await the end, which is the day of Jesus Christ, where we will receive bodily resurrection and death will literally be no more. Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Php 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. This is not talking about a corporate body but our individual bodies, being transformed and changed into the image of His glorious body. 1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
