A view of Dewdar, pine n kicker plantlets being cultivated in 53 compartment of Killar range of recently established tehsil Bhalla Distt. Doda. It is a meter of fact that a huge revenue has been collected by the state govt. in near past by selling the timber to private contractors on the basis of high biding by these contracts/companies.Besides rich in dewdar timber (known as green gold), herbs (medicinal plants) like nagchatri n other herbs n morchil (precious fungi) are some natural gifts found in these high altitude forest ranges but..... being targeted by some timber n herb smugglers because they earn lot of money by selling these precious goods at high rates.It causes a severe damage to the forest.Even the govt. agencies responsible for protection of these forests do not bother about the on going damage of forests , they only receive a huge monthly amount from the treasury n sit aside. Now, A young range officer has taken over the charge as Range Officer killar range n he is quite promising officer. I, on behalf of public killar will hope that he will take a strong n prompt action against the culprits n bring them to books so that the humans n animals may breathe in a healthy environment, the slogan ofSave the trees n Ann poshe Tele Yele wan posse, forced by govt can prove right rhapsodist.
