A volunteer writes: Lucy looks up from her arrival kennel, her eyes look into mine with warmth, confusion, and hope. I leash her easily, we step out and I see how beautiful she is. Surrendered by her family as they are moving where shes not welcome, were told that shes housetrained, friendly to everyone, knows sit, down and paw, is well behaved in the home, and likes to play fetch, tug and chase. Lucy showed off her housetraining skills as soon as we were out the door and then showed off her good leash manners as we walked to the park. Once inside the park she made it her mission to rid the park of squirrels, pulling after them as they scurried about burying nuts for the winter. Off leash in the yard she follows me around the pen, sits when I ask her to, and takes treats super gently. She didnt mind being tethered for photos in the park, and in the yard poses for me again, making soft eye contact and enjoying more treats. Discovering a tennis ball, Lucy is happy to run after it, doing a partial return for another toss. Gently affectionate Lucy and I exchanged some hugs and kisses, as her tail wagged softly. Lucy is every inch a lady....calm, quiet, well mannered, well taken care of, and so very gentle. Shes beautiful in every way and has it all except for now people to love. Shes spayed and ready to complete your family today....ask to meet Lucy when you visit.
