A year ago today, I got the marry the one special person that was meant to be my wife. Our story is so much more than just this last year. We met just over 3 years ago. We quickly fell head over heals. There was very little time that we did not spend together, and in just 6 short weeks, we found out that she was pregnant. That news, while exciting, threw our whole world into chaos. Theres a reason that God designed the process the way he did. First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes the baby in the baby carriage. We had to spend that tumultuous time of pregnancy getting to know each other. It was hard. There were times that we hated each other. There was a time when we almost completely gave up. Soon after Emma was born, the pot boiled over. All seemed lost. At that critical moment, we made a desperate decision. We decided to dive in head first. We would live as a family. Her as my wife and Emma as our daughter. But to take it a step further, we gave it all to God. Our family would be based on a foundation of Christ. We started attending Antioch Community Church together. It was awkward at first, but it was the best decision that we could have made. We were welcomed in by loving people. They did not judge our situation. We were not looked down upon. Instead, they celebrated our victory. We were welcomed, loved, counselled, and nurtured. There is healing power in Christ, and when we live by the designs of God and not by our own whims, all things are made right. When spent the next year or so planning our wedding. On March 30, 2013, we finally said I do, and our family was made whole. Theres not a moment of that that I would take back. Its made us who we are, and set a solid foundation for our lives from here to eternity. I love Casandra Simon and little Emma completely, and I cannot wait for the next thing that God has planned for us!
