ACTIVE FORECAST TONIGHT, SHOWERY AND COLD! Good evening. Tonight we bring an active forecast as a few weak cold changes move through, bringing a period of cold winds and showers, with snow to 300-400m, and hail to sea level. Tomorrow: The days starts well with mild temperatures as a northerly flow is dominant. During the afternoon, a strong SW change occurs, bringing a period of coastal showers. Snow will fall to above 300m on Banks Peninsula, with hails laced in with showers at sea level. We highlight a low risk of some localized thunderstorms about coastal areas of South Canterbury. Expect highs of 12deg Wednesday: Conditions will fine up early. But once again during the afternoon a cold SW change occurs. Bring a period of coastal showers with cold winds and snow to 500m. Expect highs of 11deg. Thursday: SW showers will clear throughout the morning to a fine but cool afternoon. Expect highs of 10deg with cool SW winds. Lets hope we see a decent amount of sun. At this stage it looks as if Friday and the weekend will be clear, cool and sunny as a large high pressure system moves in. Thats all for now. Have a great night, and Leighton will be with you in the morning. -Josh
