ADB team surveys Imphal-Moreh route IMPHAL, Aug 5 : A team of Asian Development Bank (ADB) engineers is currently preparing a feasibility report for construction of a new Imphal-Moreh road and expansion of the existing road. A high-ranking official of the State Government said that ADB started paying special attention to Imphal-Moreh road acknowledging the crucial link it provides between India and Myanmar in the backdrop of the restoration of some semblance of democracy in Myanmar. The ADB team led by mission leader Yama Guchi arrived at Imphal on August 3 and they called on Chief Minister O Ibobi today and discussed about the feasibility report which they are preparing at present. Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar and many key officials of Works Department were also present at the meeting. Notably, Imphal-Moreh road constitutes a section of Asian Highway I. Apart from development of Imphal-Moreh road, ADB may sanction necessary funds for development of some other major roads of the State. Talking to The Sangai Express Yama Guchi said that they came to Manipur to assist in developing Imphal-Moreh road in view of the crucial link it provides between India and Myanmar.
