ADVENT: DAY 23 When you wake this morning, think of the shepherds who sleep outside, who do a job no one wants and wear the smell of the sheep on their clothes. In the midst of your morning warm shower, and a hot cup of coffee, think of all those who live outside. Not every sheep has a shepherd and not every shepherd sees an angelic choir, or a baby in a manger. Be on the lookout for 21st century shepherds, and wise men and angels and mangers on your neighborhood streets and highways. Look for the landlords with no room, and the angelic choirs and, in your mind’s eye, cast them for some contemporary Christmas Pageant. Only two more days!
