AIR POWER DISCUSSION-ANSWER Can a Christian lie to save the life of someone as Rahab did?( Joshua 2:4)? Personally, I dont think I can make a rule or law concerning this issue. I can only make some observations. Rahab is one of those people whose name is mentioned in the Hebrews hall of fame yet still, it is evident she told a lie to save the life of the twelve spies of Israel. Why was she commended? I want us to examine that particular verse in detail. Hebrews 11:31 reads By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. She was not commended for telling lies but for the following reasons: 1. Her faith: she identified with Gods people because she believed they were sent by God and the land had been given to them although she did not know them or had seen them. 2. Her hospitality: she received strangers and ministered to them food and lodging. We are told in scriptures to be hospitable and kind to strangers and she did exactly that. In conclusion, can a Christian tell lies to save the life of another person? I dont know the answer so remind me to ask God that question when we get to heaven by his grace.
