#ALS #IceBucket #WeAllGoALittleCrazySometime So, with the achievement of total family involvement, we have been met with, what I think is, success! Special thanks to Kristy Kyle for both the nomination and the key role in filming and editing my completion of the #ALS #icebucketchallenge !!! The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has not only brought awareness to our family’s doorstep, it has brought us, as a family closer together as you will all see. This video of my ice bucket challenge is 100% family made for everyone’s viewing pleasure!!! And remember, “We all go a little crazy sometimes….” That being said, that ice dump shot took way too many takes (4 buckets of ice water over my head)! Let’s just say, ice water is definitely paralyzing and I cannot imagine the pains that true #ALS sufferers must endure, my hats off to them and to their varying levels of caregivers, as I know for a fact, this disease, as with any disease, affects those closest just as much! And, lastly, since I took the ice bucket over the head three extra times (I have blooper footage to prove it) I will be taking the liberty of making six nominations for the #ALS #IceBucketChallenge rather than just three… Plus I will be donating $100 to the appropriate ALS foundation, $100 to another local foundation, and I urge all of you to do the same… Support the ALS cause, but do remember that there are more out there than just those battling ALS! And my six, yes six, nominations go to: 1- Darlene Kyle Ault… my big sister, I watched as my niece (Cassandra Ault) took this challenge and neglected to nominate you, Jeremy Ault, or Lucas. I was shocked, like having a bucket of ice dumped over my head shocked, that you have not been nominated as of yet… So I say what are little brothers for? Believe me, if my big brother, John Kyle, had a facebook page, he’d be nominated by me as well… I love you sis! Thank you for being one of my biggest supports in life since the day we first met (over 36 years ago). So yep, I challenge you, Darlene Ault, to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! 2- Greg Clark (Zack KnightShade)… another bucket dodger, I watched as your daughter ( Guinivere Clark) just glazed passed the perfect opportunity to nominate the perfect person for this challenge, kilt and all… and not to mention, not Tabby Clark? And not Jen Jen Schuman-Clark? Guin, we need to talk, I’m just saying… Again, I was as shocked as though I was having a bucket of ice dumped over my head! Boy, oh boy, Greg, I love you, but I can’t believe that your daughter missed her perfect target… So yep, I challenge you, Greg Clark, to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! 3- Kimberly Main-Shamel… you see, I was going to challenge Joey Shamel, YES, I was going to target him and the rest of his Incoherent Ramblings (and you all know what that means)… but instead, as I was challenged by my daughter I happened to receive a very quick thumbs up… by who? Hmmmm… not by Joey, but by his wife, well, that being said, and I figure it is inevitable that Joey will get his turn in due time, but until then… Yep, I challenge you, Kimberly Shamel, to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! 4- Charley Bell… It’s easy to recognize the people in your life that helped you get through and, like a bucket of ice, it’s an eye opener when I reflect upon those that have been a hand in me being the me that I am today. You, Howard Hsu, Elisabeth Lee Dugan, Rachelle Gonzalez, and countless others weighed in as true friends in the early years of my life and contributed to it being a life worth living, friends. And now, together we can help make differences… Howard, Charley, and Derek, all busy souls, all worthy of this challenge, but as I know Howard is dedicated to his run today, and Derek dodged the bullet by not being on facebook… yep, that leaves you, and thus, I challenge you, Charley Bell, to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! 5- Peter Johnston… I’ll say it a thousand times over; true friends make life worth living. And, just like a bucket of ice to the head, realizing the weight those friends hold and what they have done for you can be shocking, especially when you take a step back and truly reflect. Getting through high school was a cruel test, but with true friends like You, Joey Anthony Venti, Jimmy Valenzuela, and so many others… and even though I’d love to see many of my female friends from TCHS in an icy wet T-shirt, my focus came down to one of you, my three best friends… I know Jimmy is in a fresh, new marriage, so he doesn’t need the ice bucket to perk him up, plus his wife might not appreciate the alternate effects that icy water seems to have. Then there was Joey… well, he’s already been nominated, and, as far as I can tell, Peter, you have not… So yep, I nominate you, Peter Johnston, to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! 6- Daniel Ferguson… last, but certainly not least! I have elementary school friends, high school friends, and I have college friends… those people who have had the pleasure of meeting me after life had been beating on me for quite some time, yet still accept me for me. And in college, I not only found great friends, You, Dan Herrig, Karie ONeill Apicella, Kim McConnell, and many more, but I found also brotherhood as well in Phi Delta Theta. Yes, we, as Phis, have been supporting ALS research right from the start, but we now have the opportunity to jump into the greater movement! So, big bro, thank you for bringing this full circle, thank you for your support, and, although the thought of Karie, Kim, or Dan Herrig in an icy wet T is very attractive, I believe that the loudest (in more ways than one) statement can and should be made by you… so yes, I challenge you, Daniel Fergueson, to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! And that’s that… Six carefully chosen challenges… did I miss anyone…??? Of course I did! But those gaps will fill in with time, just as a cure for ALS will come with time! Don’t forget: 24-hours! Bucket of Ice! Donate! Challenge met… Challenges made!
