AMANDA and DANIEL The two met in campus in August 2008 in India. They were class mates who later became friends. He claims he loved her the first time he saw her. She fell in love with him one day when she saw him play the piano. Dan is soon turning 27 and Amanda is 28 years old. While everyone thought they were dating she had a boyfriend who was also in India. Dan on the other hand had many friends but no girlfriend. He used to say he wanted to meet and date the girl he’d marry. Around November 2011, she broke up with her boyfriend, she kept this to herself. In December 2011, Dan went home for a month’s holiday. When he got back in February 2012 they enjoyed evening walks and during one of those he proposed to her; they starting dating officially. End of 2012, they moved out of the city to do their Final year projects. They found two small houses not far from one another. They never wanted to live together until they were married. While there she had financial issues and Dan came to her rescue. He took that decision not because he had enough money (he was also depending on his family) but he just wanted to be with her in that hard time. He paid her last year tuition fees, up keep and many other bills. On Valentine’s Day, 2013 he proposed to marry her she said yes. Dan’s family was happy for them; hers on the hand were indifferent. Their results came out; they both had passed with a first class and graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Information Technology”. With some little savings they flew to Nairobi because the ticket was cheaper from Mumbai to Nairobi, Dan went to stay with his brother while Amanda and her sister stayed at their brother’s. They traveled for X-mas holidays in 2013 Dan came to Uganda she continued to Rwanda. While there her family said they didn’t want Dan. They even stopped her from going back to Nairobi for internship. Amanda called Dan and told him about it, he later went to Rwanda to discuss face to face. When he came back to Uganda she sent him a message ending the relationship. He never accepted what was happening, she wasn’t picking his calls or answering his messages. He decided to talk to her Aunt who’s close to both of them, she supported him 100%. She told Amanda that if she loved Dan she should never leave him. They met secretly she apologized for her previous decision. She moved away from home and informed only her sister that she was coming to Uganda. She has since reconciled with her family. In late march they did okukyala and hope to win this wedding
