*AMAZING update for you guys!!* After posting a few months back that rios injury had finally recovered, look who has a rider back on him!! Posting to give you all hope if you have a seriously injured horse and to show vets arent always correct. For you who dont know his story, rio seriously tore a hole in both his check and suspensory ligimant in December 2012 (seems so long ago) we were told numerous times that he would never heal and to put him to sleep, after much debate we chose to give him a fighting chance. It took around 6 months of box rest, shockwave therapy and moving to a rehabilitation yard till it started to show a slight improvement and in total was on box rest for 13/14 months till he finally got the all clear at the start of this year. Not only has it healed, its healed that amazingly that he will come back into full work and can start his dressage career again :) And here the gorgeous boy is the other day after our first ever trot!
