He plays gali cricket with his friends. He cries when he goes to school, but looks sweet when he wears his small shirt with a tie and shorts. He hates having girl partners. He teases them. He is shameless but scared when he fails and his parents are called to school. But still. He manages to be cool. He becomes crazy for all the boy things. Cycles, bikes, cars, WWE, football, basket ball, volley ball etc. He starts to smile at girls rather than pulling their hair and run. He clicks her pictures rather than spoil them by making horns on their heads. He becomes an adolescent. He watches blue films with his friends. He starts cracking non-veg jokes in public. He fights with his friends. He abuses them. He is a Gunda. But he has a soft heart. He is courteous to touch Sharma Aunty’s feet and say “Namaste”. He realises his Dad’s responsibility and is willing to help him rather than ask him for money to party. He studies hard. He has no shame in cutting veggies for his mom rather than complain about food. He teaches his sister how to behave instead of eating all her chocolates. He protects her from roadside bastards instead of pillow-fightingwith her. He helps his brother with assignments. He fights for him. He becomes a role model for him. He bears being called a dog just because one of his mates acted like one. He falls in love. He forgets himself to think of her. He takes her for bike rides. He comforts her when she is weak. He gives her a shoulder to cry. He hugs her when she needs it. He kisses away her pain. He pretends to be strong even when he is not. He feels torn between love and family. He gets cheated in love. But still holds strong. His college bag becomes a formal briefcase. He replaces his tee with a shirt and his jeans with pants. He works day in and day out. He marries according to the will of his parents. He sacrifices for his new family. He forgets his desires to fulfil their needs. He takes care of his old parents. He helps his siblings. He gives them all he has. And that BOY BECOMES A MAN. So, Respect MEN. They have a heart. They may not show their feelings, but they care, they cry, they love. All men are NOT dogs.
