AN OPEN LETTER TO MY PEOPLE IN MFANGANO, YOKIA - TopicsExpress

AN OPEN LETTER TO MY PEOPLE IN MFANGANO, YOKIA SPECIFICALLY. ************************************************************ Fellow Islanders, Pardon me and allow me to disturb the quietude of your blessed Sunday.First, my greetings in the name of the Almighty God and that of the sovereignty of our Country. Second, my point, but before that, i must beseech you from the onset to find time to read and judge for yourselves if indeed i deserved your attention. As a write, some families are together either from church or sitting at home in readiness for Lunch. But on the other side, are the unkempt orphans and the young widows. They have had no meals since only-God-knows when.Outside their small mad walled houses, are the graves of those whom they used to call daddy. How about the old widows who cant stop staring at the graves of their sons and daughters- those who were their only bread winners? But its not the pain of hunger that triggers their tears. No! Its the Hunger for justice.I write this with a sad sense of disparity among us.The sunlight that brings life and healing to some of us has brought stripes and death to others. So as the other section rejoices, the other must mourn. And it is a belligerent crime to drag the mourning many into the decorated temples of self-deceit and call upon them to join the joyous anthems when part of these merry makers, orchestrated the demise of their loved ones. That will be an inhuman mockery and sacrilegious sarcasm! (Am not talking about natural causes of death, but those that are man made) Good and bad people, above the tumultuous joy of the celebrants, I hear the mournful wail of the insignificant many, whose pains, deep and behemoth yesterday, are today reignited by the jubilant shouts that reach them from their oppressors. If I do forget, never to mention the plight of those young clothe-less hungry kids, if i do not remember the tears of the struggling young widows and join the oppressors in their celebrations, may my forehead find a place in my chest and my limbs be relocated to my shoulders! There is a bunch of brazen criminals-serial and blood thirsty murders at home, whose unbridled greed for wealth and disregard to the sanctity of human life, coupled with the fear of the victims have created literal human slaughter camps in the Island.Whether we turn to the hidden rots of the past, or to the realities of the present, the conduct of our people (good and bad), remains hideous and disgusting. This is because the good people are such cowards, they wont stop these other incarnates of the devil. Mfangano is false to her past, false to her present, and solemnly binds herself to be false to the future. But i will make this risky step to tell the truth and speak for those who cannot. Standing with God and the crushed and bleeding bones of the murdered, I hereby in the name of humanity, which is outraged, in the name of truth, which is strangled , in the name of the Constitution and the Bible, whose emphasis of human dignity are disregarded and trampled upon, dare to denounce, everything that serves to perpetuate this crime, be it those who kill others and offer them as sacrifice to the gods of money or those who knowing too well the existence of this shameful practice, still ignore and assume that things are no worse! Personally,I shall not equivocate - I wont excuse. I will use the severest language I can command, to rebuke this vice. I have been told before, that these criminals are too powerful to be corrected and that such attempts should grant one an early exit from the World. Well, am more than ready, with an eager soul and a prepared conscience I wait for that day. If it comes today or tomorrow, may those of you who will have the unfortunate duty of burring me, tell the posterity that i stood for truth and never minced my words! Friends, it will be a great betrayal if we refuse to condemn those who kill our parents, siblings and neighbors. We cannot afford the luxury of procrastination when like a shark, moral decay is violently consuming our society. We must act now, and i insist that these bad elements must be banished from the society or locked up in jails where they rightfully belong. Prudence demands that when in the course of our interaction with others,it becomes unavoidable for a people to dissolve the social threads which have connected them with others, they must give a satisfactory justification. My letter has (as i intended) stated my reasons very vividly. And with a biblical finality, i conclude that i shall shake no demonic hand!
