AR Rahman on vandalism: It happened to others too AR Rahman opens up on the vandalism incident and explains why he didnt file a police compliant. A month ago, Mirror (May 20, 2014) had reported that the Oscar and Grammy winning composers home in Los Angeles had been vandalised. A friend had then told Mirror that Rahman was the first to discover the graffiti. However, nobody had broken into the house and the musician and his family were unharmed. ALSO READ: AR Rahman reports vandalism at his LA place However, when the Mozart of Madras was down in Mumbai for a promotional concert for his forthcoming film, Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, he admitted to Mirror that though his agent and friends in the US were concerned, he had eventually not gone to the cops. When you are in another country everything disturbs you. But we learned that it was a kid who had sprayed the walls of a couple of other houses in the neighbourhood too. So we didnt pursue the matter, he explains. However, hes glad that he posted the picture of the vandalised wall on his social media pages so people know that its not a bed of roses there. Last year a guy just went on a shooting spree in LA . The US is becoming a gun nation. But along with a few bad people, there are a lot of good people too, he reasons.
