ATTENTION: Citizens no longer have to wait for a pill take back event to properly dispose of medications. Located in the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office lobby at 285 T. Kemp Rd in Louisburg and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Substation lobby at 382 NC 98 West in Bunn, are permanent drop boxes that are accessible weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in Louisburg and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in Bunn; no appointment is necessary. Citizens can dispose of expired, unused, over-the-counter and prescription medicines and prescription ointments no questions asked. No liquids, radioactive or bio-hazard items, batteries or needles please.
