ATTENTION FRIENDS!! This upcoming Wednesday night (October 8th) from 7-9pm, the University of Georgia will be hosting the internationally renowned debate team from Oxford University for a public debate. This will be the fifth UGA vs Oxford debate which occurs every 3 years, so if youre not a Freshman this will be your only chance to see it! The record currently stands at 2-2 so this debate will stand as the tie-breaker for the next 3 years. Representing UGA will be yours truly along with Eilidh Geddes and Logan Gramzinski and we will be squaring off with the 3 Oxford Union Presidents. The topic for the debate is On balance, United States drone strikes enhance its national security objectives. Moderating the debate is the familiar face in all our homes - Channel 2 Action News Anchor Monica Pearson. The panel of judges includes UGA President Dr. Morehead, former GA State Senator Dr. Cecil Stanton, and Executive Director of the British-American Business Group Mr. Ray Gilbert. This years event will be unique because there will be a portion of the debate devoted to fielding questions from the audience via Twitter which means your questions/concerns can be raised during the debate.
