ATTENTION HS3 STUDENTS: I will be in charge of UCAS this semester so I need to know who plans on applying to British schools. I sincerely hope that many of you consider applying but understand it is extra work because your personal statement will be different than the one you submit for American schools. I read quite a bit about writing personal statements for British schools so I am willing to help you with those if needed. The first thing you should do though if you are serious about British schools is finding a teacher to write your recommendation letter. You are only allowed to ask one teacher and it is strongly advised that the teacher is someone who taught you in the subject area in which you are applying for. The deadline is October 15th so you need to start considering who to ask and let them know ASAP. The reason is because the recommendation letters have to be based on academics - so it is a bit different than recommendation letters for American schools. I will open up a UCAS group so please join so I know who is applying. I want to start organizing meetings so everyone is prepared and knows exactly what they need to do. Cool? cool. :)
