AWESOME jazz concert @ BISFA last night! Most everyone had an opportunity to stretch out and play a solo (welcome to jazz) which showcased their creative talent and got them in the spotlight. Lucas Hanson (piano), Evan Tritapoe (guitar), Josh Hollin (bass) Nathan Hammer (drums), Paul Rochford(Sax), Dakota Herson (trumpet), Lara White (cello), Nadia McClain (vocals), Mr Bill Hollin (French horn) and Mr. Scott Silbert (conductor, tenor sax). We learned about the amazing Duke Ellington, the bassa nova, Thelonius Monk, and the A-train and other historical facts about jazz. The concert ended with Rock-Man-inoff, led by Lucas Hanson, and creatively improvised by the entire group. Thanks to Mr. Hollin and Mr. Silbert for allowing helping to make this happen.
